Deity Candles: 1 red, 1 white, 1 black, 2 green

Yule Incense

Athame

Bread

Red Wine

Salt

Bell

Element Candles

Yule Intro

This is Winter Solstice, the longest and darkest night of the year. We have gathered to celebrate the rebirth of the Sun. The Goddess shall become The Great Mother as She gives birth to her Son and Consort once again.

I draw this circle in the presence of the Goddess and The Newborn Lord of Light.

We are free to stand within its boundaries to welcome the promise of renewal.

Hail and welcome guardians of the East. We call to you spirits of the freezing winds and icy breezes, guide us with your knowledge.

Hail and welcome spirits of the South. Warm us with your flames of freedom and change.

Hail and welcome spirits of the West. Comfort us with your dreams and purity.

Hail and welcome guardians of the North. We call to you spirits of the cold earth. Enrich us with your touch and prosperity.

Ring bell 3 times. Say:

Lighting the white candle near the cauldron we all say:

"White is for the Maiden, please plant seeds of new beginnings in our lives."

Lighting the red candle say:

"Red is for the Mother, we ask that you grant us gifts, ideas and the strength to carry through.

Lighting the black candle say:

"Black is for the Crone, Please give the wisdom to understand the magical mysteries."

Light the green candle and say:

"Green is for the Divine Child, we welcome you Child of light and Consort of the Goddess."

Ring bell 3 times again and say:

"We welcome you into our circle and to thank for your presence here tonight. We welcome your blessing and share this gift of wine and bread."

Yule Log

{Cut door in circle and allow everyone to exit and go outside for the Yule Log}

Place the Yule Log in the fireplace or burning pit.

Cast a circle around it. {if possible}

Call the four quarters

South: Rub oil onto the carved sun, then say:

"The Wheel has turned full circle, we call you back to warm us."

West, Pour a little wine on the log, then say:

" You, who have died, are now reborn."

North, Sprinkle salt over the log, then say:

"Since time began, we have celebrated the birth of God, The darkest of nights gives birth to the new sun."

East, Taken the wood match, light the fire and say:

"I light this fire in honor of us all, Thank you God for the light you will bring us. Thank you Mother for the warmth of Your Son. Live within us."

Close circle. Save some ashes and a small part of

the log for next years Yule.
